Xperia XA2 single sim. But if I add a new contact to Signal by the phone number and safe it later in my phone book with a name, Signal shows this new one only by there phone number.

It is interesting that in the new reaction function the correct user names and not the telephone numbers are displayed.

A known issue to this app. Either type in the number of your contact manually or let them write to you. The issue is in the way Signal accesses the contacts. This changed for quite some time and broke...

I installed Signal Android-app. for some time now my only the phone numbers of my contacts are shown. Android has access to my Contacts and Signal too.
